The high price is a reflection of the fact that we have specially-developed this super-absorbent material. When something is specially developed, and not a standard material it is more costly to produce. Organic Bamboo is also not a cheap material. Siccaro products are premium quality and we expect that they will last a large part of a dog’s lifetime if treated with respect. We could manufacture in China, but then it becomes more difficult to maintain the quality we require from a Siccaro product, plus, we are committed to keeping production within the EU where the quality is high and everyone is paid properly and has decent working conditions.

Most of the other solutions that are on offer for drying dogs are made out of micro-fibre materials. These do absorb relatively well, but can not hold onto the moisture. They soon turn into wet cloths, which stick to the dog’s coat, often before the dog is properly dried. A WetDog can be used on the same dog on the same day, and still be able to absorb moisture. I usually say it is like comparing a bicycle with a car. They will both get you to your destination, but with very different levels of effort.

Check out this YouTube Video, which shows how Siccaro compares to other products on the market. There is just no match. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_mWkg9wzQ8

You should measure your dog from the neck at the collar to the root of the tail, and be aware that the robe can shrink by approx. 5% after the first wash, so always go towards purchasing a larger size.

The WetDog has a large capacity for holding water so if the dogs are around the same size you can definitely use it for two dogs - as long as they are not very long-haired, like Newfoundlanders.

Of course, that is always an option, but it takes much longer, more effort and it results in filthy, heavy, wet towels, which need to be washed. A WetDog or WetDog Hunter lets the dog dry itself in a much shorter time, and reduces the smell as it does so. It does not need to be washed every time it is used. It dries very quickly, and stays cleaner than a towel. It can be used anywhere, any time, with no effort - no bending down and rubbing an excitable dog, no chasing or playing tug-of-war.

The only difference between the two models is the outer fabric. The Classic has an anti-bacterial bamboo quilting together with the specially-absorbent material and, so, as well as soaking up the water, it also reduces the smell of a wet dog. The Hunter uses an impregnated linen, which is quilted together with the viscose which means that it is more resistant to dirt and more suitable, for example, for hunting dogs. The Hunter does not have anti-bacterial properties. The absorbency capabilities, sizes and shapes are the same on both models but the WetDog Classic is a teeny bit more absorbent and suited for use mostly indoors whereas the WetDog Hunter is best used outdoors where it can cope with the impact of the outdoor environment and keep your dog protected from light rain and wind.

Siccaro WetDog is for you if you are looking for the most quick, efficient and highly absorbent dog robe in the world.
Siccaro WetDog Hunter is the best option for you if you are searching for a great outdoor dog coat for colder months that can soak up loads of moisture if they get wet.

Your dog has no real opinion about how it looks! A dog has no sense of self-awareness so it is up to the owners to be smarter than their dog and realise that it is best for the dog’s health and wellbeing to get as dry as possible, as quickly as possible. Do you ask your children if they would like to brush their teeth?

Most of our distributors have chosen to sell the WetDog together with a bag. Or, you can talk to your distributor if they don’t.

Yes, because it is made from breathable, natural materials, if the dog is wet then it ought not to exceed a comfortable temperature. However, it is not advisable to leave a WetDog on a dog for long periods on a hot summer day and especially not in a stationary car where temperatures can get extremely hot.

The WetDog and WetDog Hunter will still work however the back legs may not get full coverage as the coat may not cover the backside. We have experienced some breeds such as Basset Hounds and Chow Chows with thick front legs do not fit the Siccaro WetDog and WetDog Hunter especially well. We advise that some users have experienced great results and others have not been 100% satisfied. It is at your discretion as to whether you feel that the product is right for you. We are not able to offer a refund or exchange once the product has been used. If you have this type of dog breed, we recommend the Siccaro DryGloves which work quickly and easily to get your dog dry also.

Please see the instructions and washing tips online on the ‘Washing and Care’ tab below each product’s page.

How do I care for my WetDog robe?
Washing
After multiple uses, or if your dog has soiled the Siccaro product, simply put the it into the washing machine at up to 30 Degrees Celsius. The FlexDog Mat cover is washable and should be removed before placing in the washing machine. It is also possible to hand wash or rinse Siccaro products in warm water if required, ensure that you gently spin dry or wring the garment out to eliminate excess water before hanging to dry or tumble drying.

Drying:
After Siccaro products have been used, simply hang to dry outside, preferably in the sun or place in a well ventilated area. If you want to dry them quickly or don’t have space to dry them, simply tumble dry at a low heat.
After washing, if you do not have a dryer, simply spin it well after washing and hang it up to dry near a radiator or in a warm room, or outside in sunshine.

If you have hand washed or rinsed the WetDog robe in cold or warm water, it is good to spin dry or wring the excess moisture from the coat before line or tumble drying.

Note: When you first get your WetDog it will not have it’s full absorbency capacity. It can be washed or rinsed in warm water (not over 30C degrees) a couple of times before wearing but it will work perfectly fine without laundering before use.

Having said this, bamboo fabrics can take up to 10 washes to reach full absorbency - you can use them straight away, but they will improve over the first few weeks use and a couple of washes. To wash the WetDog, we recommend using non-biological detergent in powder form. We believe that a non-biological powder is preferable to a biological - this is because biological powders contain enzymes that can adversely affect natural fabrics such as cotton and particularly bamboo.

You can use any of the ‘non-bio’ marked powders available in the supermarkets, or a 'deep green' powder such as Bio D or Clear Springs, which are often available in health food shops. Whatever you use, you will need no more than half the usual recommended dose for a full load.

Warnings
- Keep your dog out of the water and on a leash around water bodies once the WetDog robe is on. The coat can absorb a huge amount of water, which will weigh your dog down and risk them drowning.
- Tuck any lose straps into the coat or underneath the coat so that they don’t get caught on thorny bushes or any other places, if they are active in the Siccaro WetDog or WetDog Hunter.
- Do not leave the coat on for a long time in hot weather. If you are using the coat for drying purposes in warm months then remove after a maximum of half an hour to prevent your dog overheating.
- Do not leave your dog in the car on a hot sunny day with the WetDog robe or Hunter on. You should never leave your dog in the car in warm weather, regardless of whether the coat is on or not, especially if the windows are sealed because temperatures rise quickly within a stationary car in the sun.
- Do not let your dog near open flames or exposed radiators whist wearing the WetDog Classic robe or WetDog Hunter coat.

Absolutely. We are currently working on several exciting new products which we look forward to presenting soon. As with WetDog, we have a long and thorough testing program but, of course when they are ready for the market, they will be an excellent supplement to our already fantastic product line.
